Redevelopment of the St Francis' Hospital at Southdowns Park earned a SUSSEX HERITAGE TRUST AWARD and acclaim by SAVE Britain's Heritage and the Council for Protection of Rural England.
The regeneration at Southdowns Park included conversion of the Victorian Grade II Listed St Francis' Hospital and created over 300 luxury apartments, town houses and cottages.
The work included demolition of many poor quality alterations and extensions to the main asylum and its adjoining buildings. The renovation was carried out using materials and architecttural details that closely matched with the original Victorian polychromatic brickwork and Italianate architecture.
St Francis' Chapel, a Grade II Listed building, has been successfully converted into a children's nursery for the residents and families living near to the Southdowns Park development
