TS Cossack and Crawley Boys Club
The new youth centre and sea cadet school for Crawley Borough Council are located on a small and restricted town centre site. The two centres were designed as mirror images arranged along a central spine wall.
The Sea Cadet School (TS Cossack) includes several teaching and club rooms arranged around a central hall that can be used for parades, sports, teaching and recreation. The hall was acoustically designed as a rehearsal space for two cadet marching bands and to minimise disturbance to the nearby homes.
The Youth Centre (Crawley Boys Club) is of a similar layout and includes a central sports hall combined with club rooms and spaces for gymnastics, boxing and fitness equipment.
